Work Smarter With Taskful, a More Intelligent Task Manager

August 8, 2017

I've been trying for years to really mapping out my tasks for the day with a to-do list app. I've noticed that few, if any, of them track how much of your stuff you've gotten done. It's just checked or unchecked, and you have to "guesstimate" how much is left in the day. If you want to track how many times you've done a particular task, that's always been next to impossible. Most to-do list apps just haven't been smart enough for that. Until now.

Organize and categorize your tasks

Taskful is smarter than most to-do list and task management apps. It helps you stay on track and meet your deadlines, breaking down your tasks into what you need to complete that day. Even better, it helps you track things you need to do multiple times a day and shows you the percentage you've completed of your tasks.

Let's start with organization. Taskful includes a handful of categories on install, but it's easy to delete them and make your own. Just tap the three lines in the top left corner of the app, and you can view your categories.

When you add a new one, you can swipe back and forth on the color to change hues. Color-coding your task categories is one way to help you prioritize things later, so take advantage of it.

Now, let's talk about why I love Taskful, and how it's such a smarter to-do list app than much of the competition.

A smarter to-do list

Create tasks with quantities

Taskful shows you how much of your day is completed, and does a great job of letting you set up tasks and be reminded of them. What's really impressive, though, is the intelligence that's involved in creating tasks.

If you include a number in your task, Taskful will automatically recognize that it's something you need to do periodically throughout the day. Then, it will help you track how well you're succeeding in meeting that goal. Whether it's walking a certain number of steps each day, or drinking a particular amount of water, Taskful can help keep you on track.

The app also integrates with Apple Health, so it's able to pull your steps directly from that app to track your progress. Since Apple Health can also track how much water you've consumed, I wish Taskful supported that integration, too. Perhaps in a future update, we'll see more tie-in with Apple Health. After all, the healthier you are, the more productive you tend to be.

If you're looking for a smarter task list that is simple to use but feature-packed, this is a great option. Taskful helps you keep tabs on how well you're doing throughout the day, so you can know at a glance if you need to step it up for the afternoon.
