Can You Help Green Jelly Gobble Up All The Candies?

December 20, 2012

Green Jelly (Free) by G5 Entertainment is a yummy-looking food themed physics puzzle game. You play as a cute little Jelly with a sweet tooth, dragging his flexible body from peg to peg in order to gather up tasty candies.

The game has fun candy graphics that will make you crave a sweet treat, and the gameplay is easy to learn but challenging to master. Each level has a number of different pegs, and you use a finger to stretch the Jelly to help him navigate though them towards each candy.

You can also fling the Jelly when he is attached to at least one peg by pulling down on his body to stretch him out and aiming in the direction that you want him to go. Letting go will send him flying into the air. Swiping at an arm will make the Jelly let go of whatever he’s holding onto, which is useful if you need to move in a specific way.

The controls work well, and after you snap up all the candy, heading to the gingerbread house will allow you to move on to the next level.

While the game starts off easily, it quickly introduces new elements like traps and dangers that must be avoided while collecting candies. For example, there are spinning purple balls of death that will rip the poor Jelly to shreds, so you need to figure out ways to sling the Jelly around them.

Avoiding these obstacles can be difficult, and in fact, the game might even be a bit too hard, especially for younger players. You can, however, skip levels if they prove to be too challenging, though you will still need a set number of candies to unlock the two other worlds, Chocolate and Waffles.

This is a fun physics game with cute graphics and an endearing main character, but be prepared for a challenge when you play it. The game has 60 different levels along with Game Center integration and 20 achievements to earn.

There are two different versions of Green Jelly, one for the iPad and one for the iPhone. Though these are free to download, you will need to pay $0.99 to unlock the iPhone version and $1.99 to unlock the iPad version.
