Fatty! ($0.99) by Thumbstar Games is a casual arcade game that will have you bouncing to great heights. Eat more treats and avoid healthy snacks to earn the most points and gain the most weight. In this game, fatter is better. I’m not sure what kind of message this is sending.

Players take charge of a little green blob that a happy pink haired girl is riding. This little green Fatty needs to eat or he will turn into skin and bones, and then just bones. To keep him bouncing, gobble up cakes, burgers, and pizza as you travel across the hills.

To start the blob bouncing, touch the right or left side of the screen. If you touch the right side of the screen, Fatty will move forward down the path. If you touch the left side of the screen, he won’t back up or turn around, but he will slow down just a bit.

When Fatty bounces, he will shoot high into the sky and float for a second before coming back down. To send him to the ground immediately, touch the screen and he will shoot back downward fast. If you only want him to make small hops close to the ground, tap the screen right after he bounces.

Players earn points for collecting coins, traveling further, and gobbling goodies. Eating yummy treats will help Fatty grow to massive proportions. It will also protect him from the effects of eating healthy foods. If he is fat enough, those nasty carrots won’t harm him. If he hasn’t increased his girth enough to combat weight loss, a vegetable may be his ultimate demise.

When you earn enough coins, you can buy power ups that will help increase your score or keep Fatty alive longer. These bonus items can increase the amount of coins earned, offer immediate sweet treats, or even make it possible to fly through the air on a jetpack.

Unfortunately, the power ups are unbelievably expensive and players only earn a few hundred coins at the most. This makes it fairly difficult to earn enough to buy a power up that costs 40,000 coins. Of course, you can buy some with an in-app purchase, but who wants to do that when you’ve already paid to download the game?

Fatty! is a fun and entertaining game. Players can bounce around for as long as they can keep the little blob from losing too much weight. It is easy to play and doesn’t require too much of your attention. The game gets repetitive after a while, but it is a great pick-up-and-play game that will keep you occupied while waiting in line at the DMV.
