Turn Your Boring Facebook Updates Into Colorful Creations With Hollanote

February 11, 2013

Hollanote (Free) by Pokajot Pty Ltd is a Facebook posting app that lets users get more creative with their updates. Add colorful fonts and silly avatars to send your social status through the roof.

Obviously, you must log into Facebook in order to create your colorful post. Once logged in, you can choose from 20 different fonts and 24 different colors. The free app allows users to pick from three fonts and five colors. You can use a plain white background, or add a bit of flare by changing the “paper” style to one of 15 different notes. Users can choose from four of them for free.

There are also 44 smiley faces for even more flair. Instead of basic emoticons, why not add an expression that includes a cute hairstyle, or different skin tone. Each different style of avatar includes nine different expressions. Users can access the basic smile and basic frown for free.

You can also post a photo with a caption by either taking one from within the app or accessing your device’s photo library.

For only $0.99 you can unlock all fonts, colors, note styles, and avatar expressions. This is a great deal for people who like playing around with interesting looking Facebook posts.

The main problem I have with this app is that these posts show up on Facebook as photos. If you send more than two posts in a row from Hollanote, it will generate a slideshow the way it does when someone posts multiple pictures at once.

There also seems to be a glitch that doubles up the background on Facebook, but it doesn’t affect your ability to see the post. It is most likely a glitch that will be fixed in the next update.

This is a fun addition to your Facebook routine. How many people do you know that have pink cursive status updates? Get in on it now and be one of the first.

If you are bored with the same old basic computer font in the same color that everyone else uses, why not mix it up a little with an app that gives your Facebook updates a little style. If you really want variety, pay the $0.99 to unlock all of the features.

[UPDATE] Due to an annoying bug in the app, the developers have decided to pull Hollanote from the App Store until they fix the glitch. We will keep you posted as to when it becomes available again.
