Angry Drivers: Help Gran Cross the Road Simulator (Free) by Best Games for Boys and Girls is an arcade game that focuses on helping one little old lady get to the other side of the street. The problem is that the street is flooded with different vehicles that she has to get around. Sound familiar? While this game is definitely like Frogger, there’s something to be said for having to protect your own grandmother from traffic.
The game uses a simple control pad in the lower right corner. Simply tap on the arrows to guide Gran across the street. When she gets hit by a car, she’ll be moved to the beginning point of the game. You’ll have to start all over.
The interesting thing is that starting over is barely a punishment. The game consists of one level that you play through as often as you want. Even if you get a game over, you start back at the beginning of the same level. The only difference is that your score resets.
There aren’t any in-app purchases, but there are a ton of ads. Every time you open the app, there are two separate ad windows that you have to close out of before you can begin to play the game. There’s also a weird game achievement network that wants you to register with them. To avoid them, make sure you click on the red lettering instead of the blue rocket.
This isn’t a game that you could spend hours playing, but it’s still a fun idea. Instead of helping a little green frog across the street, you’re trying to get your aged and fragile grandma to the other side.
