Quirky App Of The Day: Cleaning Cat Is Only In It For The Fish And Free Ride

December 22, 2012

cleaning cat (Free) by YOU DONG RHO is a game that involves a very clean cat. I know that cats are known for being clean, but this one goes a little above and beyond the call of duty. It sits on a robot vacuum and whirls around the dust path to get to the fish. Maybe it’s to keep its paws clean. Maybe it’s because the cat is lazy. Either way, this cat wants to ride to a fishy victory.

The robot vacuum is a little too easily confused. It requires a straight path to the fish. Any dusty floor blocks that stray from the direct path will cause the vacuum to spin around and send the cat back to the beginning.

The levels don’t begin with a path to the fish. You have to make it. When you tap on a floor square, the blocks on the top, bottom, right, and left all turn dusty. You have to tap the right floor squares to make the path without any dusty squares running along the sides of the path. It doesn’t matter if there are dusty blocks that are off in the distance as long as there are clean ones that separate the path from the random dusty blocks.

There are two ways to play Cleaning Cat. First, there’s the basic mode of gameplay, and then there are stages.

The basic mode begins with one minute on the timer. Your job is to get through as many levels in that time as possible. The timer doesn’t reset with each new level. You have to just keep plowing through until the timer runs out. Your score is tallied at the end of your cleaning spree, and you can see your personal high score.

The stages mode gives you one minute for each stage. Your goal is to make a path with as few taps as possible. There are 120 stages for you to clear.

Cleaning Cat is compatible with both the iPhone and iPad. It’s available in the App Store for the awesome price of FREE!
