Graveyard Keeper (Free) by 峻 黄 is a puzzle game that lets you tend to your headstones and turn your zombies into treasure. The app randomly generates objects that you can place in your graveyard. If you group three of these items together, you receive one upgraded item. Here’s how it works:
Three candles equals one coffin. Wherever you placed your last candle, a coffin will appear. You then place two other coffins near your newly obtained coffin, and you’ll get a gravestone in place of your last coffin. There are 15 different upgrade combinations that you can use.
The game becomes challenging when there are zombies that you have to place. These zombies roam around the board and move one space each time you place an object. They can block spaces that you need.
If you successfully block in a zombie or two, they turn into treasure chests. You can buy keys in the store with coins that you earn during gameplay to unlock them. You can also explode them with dynamite to get rid of them if you don’t have any keys.
The game also has the unique feature of using points to place objects. Once you run out of points, you can buy more of these in the store with those same coins that you earn during the game. This makes planning your gameplay more important than usual.
You get these coins by earning some of the higher ranking upgrades, like the silver cross, the golden cross, the golden headstone, or the obelisk. If you just can’t seem to earn enough coins to keep playing, you can buy 5,000 coins through an in-app purchase of $6.99.
