Quirky App Of The Day: Heroes Meet Sidekicks In LEGO Hero Factory Brain Attack
LEGO® Hero Factory Brain Attack (Free) by Amuzo Games Ltd is a fighting game that focuses on defending different areas of the city Makuhero. A recently reviewed LEGO app featured characters that resembled the classic LEGO block people and creatures that usually come with the builder sets. In LEGO Hero Factory Brain Attack, the hero and sidekick more closely resemble the far more complex characters from the Bionicle collection.
You are the hero, but when you first begin, there’s very little about you that verifies your ability to be a hero. Your weapon is weak, and the majority of the monster smashing is done by your sidekick. I would assume that this is akin to Batman being reduced to a frustrated teenager while Dick Grayson kicks trash as his adult alias Nightwing.
As you progress in the game, your hero does pick up some potency, but it’s through weapon and armor upgrades. Part of gaining amazing upgrades is through the little used virtue of patience. At the beginning of each game, you have the option to choose an immediate weapon boost, or you can gain a great boost if you wait for a certain amount of time.
The levels are won by killing a specific number of creatures that are trying to attack the city. While you are picking up awesome boosts, your partner is killing off the fiends. The faster and more efficiently you are able to meet the kill goal will determine your rating at the end of the level.
To prevent you from running around the board blind while you look for baddies, there are icons and arrows to show you where to go to find them.
