Quirky App Of The Day: Protect Your Hutches From The Zombie Chickens

Zombie Chickens HD (Free) by Benjamin Selby is an arcade game that features foul fowl from beyond the grave. You have hutches full of healthy chickens that you need to protect. The zombie chickens are determined to change your brood into undead horrors. Many people are aware that zombies are desperate to eat brains. Few people remember that a zombie’s secondary instinct is to create more of themselves. These chickens are acting on that secondary instinct.

Being the amazing farmer that you are, you have a tank. I’m not really familiar with farming equipment. Yes, I live in the country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I understand all the equipment required to run a farm. I’ll have to ask my farmer friends if I could see their tanks.

The little yellow chicks can be run over. You tap on the screen to direct your tank, and it squishes the chicks into the ground under its mighty treads. The bigger fowl, such as chickens and turkeys, require you to shoot eggs at them to kill them. There’s something disturbing about killing a chicken with their own offspring.

The chickens will drop ammo for your turret. To pick it up, just run it over with your tanks. While you do have a limited amount of ammo, I didn’t have a problem with running out.

I liked fighting off zombie chickens. They were hilarious. They have this weird, haunted noise that they make when they die. There are also various challenges to the game to keep things interesting. They include making the chickens extra large, adding thick fog, or implementing land mines. It was an awesome game to play, and I recommend it to anyone who loves zombie games.
