Announced back in March and released early April, On The Wind has been well-received by most, including our staff pick for Game of the Week. Nevertheless, some discontent was present, though today’s release of On The Wind v1.1 addresses one of the biggest criticisms. In addition, Don’t Step On The Cracks has passed along a handful of promo codes to hand out, allowing some of our readers to experience the game for absolutely free.
As something of an endless running game, On The Wind assigns you the task of controlling the wind to carry a collection of leaves as far as you can. Requiring only a single finger or thumb, direct the leaves using a tap and drag motion. This works just fine on the iPad, however, obstruction issues can occur while playing the game on the iPhone or iPod touch.
To help resolve this issue, Don’t Step On The Cracks now provides the sensitivity setting to iPhone and iPod touch users. Previously only available when playing the game on the iPad, the touch sensitivity level determines the proximity of the leaves to your finger. At high sensitivity, the leaves stay exactly where you’re touching, and low sensitivity results in the leaves trailing a distance away.
Just like On The Wind v1.0 offered the feature on the iPad, v1.1 preconfigures sensitivity on the iPhone and iPod touch, but allows manual adjustment within the Options area. In case anyone wondered, the iPhone and iPod touch sensitivity level is preset at 50%, whereas the iPad is at about 90%.
To have a chance at winning one of five On The Wind promo codes, leave a comment below telling us what your favorite season or On The Wind characteristic is before April 19 at 111:59 p.m. PDT. Only one entry per person is allowed.
