Cydia Tweak: 'Text Heads' To Appear In Forthcoming biteSMS Update

April 29, 2013
According to an update from the official biteSMS Twitter account, "Text Heads" are to launch any minute now in a forthcoming version of the popular messaging jailbreak application. Though no further news concerning the update has been announced, we can assume that once released, the updated biteSMS will allow users to access incoming text messages from anywhere in the iOS, via the implementation of a Facebook Chat Heads-like feature. The aforementioned tweet was posted from @biteSMS in response to a question from a follower. Here's the conversation: Since Facebook Home launched for Android, the software's Chat Heads feature has proved to be popular, with one jailbreak developer working hard to liberate Chat Heads from the Facebook iOS app. With biteSMS 7.6 beta, however, Chat Heads functionality will be built into the SMS messaging application itself, presumably allowing users to receive, compose, and send messages via biteSMS using the Chat Heads feature. Since biteSMS itself is an SMS/MMS messaging application, its developer has appropriately dubbed the feature "Text Heads." While little information on the forthcoming update has been announced, we do know that biteSMS 7.6 beta will be available in the Cydia Store in just "[a] few hours," according to the app's developer. We'll keep you posted on the availability of biteSMS 7.6 beta, and will let you know once the updated jailbreak application appears in Cydia.
