Paper by FiftyThree — the ridiculously beautiful and utterly useful productivity app that was an Apple Design Award winner for 2012, Apple’s iPad App of the Year for 2012, and one of AppAdvice’s Top 10 Best Free iPad Apps of 2012 — has received another major update.

This new update is likely to inspire you and help you look at things a bit more clearly, considering that it lets you “see what the world is making” and “get closer to your ideas.”

Specifically, and far less cryptically, the latest update to Paper by FiftyThree introduces a new Made With Paper section and a new zoom function.

Located at the end of your row of journals in the app, the new Made With Paper section presents a gallery of sketches, diagrams, illustrations, and notes that are, well, made with Paper by users from around the world. It’s definitely a great place for finding inspiration for your next Paper creation.

As for the new zoom function, it lets you pinch outward to bring up a loupe in which you can make more precise touches.

The new Paper by FiftyThree update also includes an upgraded Expressive Ink Engine, which is now built on OpenGL for faster rendering.

Compatible with iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of Paper by FiftyThree is available now in the App Store for free.

The app features five tools: Draw, Sketch, Outline, Write, and Color. The Draw tool is free to use right away, while the others may be unlocked via in-app purchase.
