You're Sure To See Red With The Original Angry Birds Game's New Update

A couple of weeks ago, we told you that Rovio was planning an update to its original Angry Birds game that would introduce a special power for the original Angry Bird, Red Bird. Today, that update has flown the Rovio coop and landed on Angry Birds for iPhone and Angry Birds HD for iPad. And sure enough, the new Angry Birds update gives Red special powers to attack the advancing Bad Piggies in their 73 crazy contraptions in the new Egg Defender mode. The update also delivers 15 new levels in Red's very own Angry Birds episode, "Red's Mighty Feathers":
The #1 app of all time gets a fun new update! You may be an expert pig popper, but how will you cope with a moving target? One bird stands between the egg and the advancing pig army in the all-new Red’s Mighty Feathers episode. The fearless Red Bird faces wave after wave of Bad Piggies in their crazy contraptions. But wait! He now has some magic feathers from the Mighty Eagle himself – giving Red incredible new powers as he darts toward those pesky pigs at incredible speed!

In celebration of the update, Rovio has posted the above video, which features a choral rendition of the Angry Birds theme song and even a special appearance of an Angry Birds soda can in Moscow's famous Red Square. Angry Birds for iPhone and Angry Birds HD for iPad are available in the App Store for $0.99 and $2.99, respectively. The previous content update to the original Angry Birds game was released last March in the form of an entire episode dedicated to the Bad Piggies. Coinciding with that update, Angry Birds was made available for free for the first time since its launch in December 2009. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
