Day 3 Of Apple's 12 Days Of Gifts Offers 'Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014' For iBooks

December 28, 2013
Apple's 12 Days of Gifts has just entered its third day with an offer to download at no cost "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014" for iBooks. Published just a couple of months ago, "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014" contains 200 pages of photos of and insights into the world's top 10 countries, regions, and cities to visit in 2014, which is just a few days away. And as its title clearly indicates, the book comes from Lonely Planet, the world's largest travel guidebook publisher. The book's iBooks Store description notes:
From the people who have been delivering trustworthy guidebooks to every destination in the world for 40 years, Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2014 is your passport to a year of unforgettable experiences. Discover the best places to go and things to do all around the world right now! Visit previously secluded destinations before they get crowded, join in this year’s global events where they are happening, and explore countries that are more accessible than ever; all with this motivating annual trend-setting travel reference. Dive into a year’s worth of travel inspiration and begin planning an exciting 2014 filled with travel and exploration now!
To download "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014," open the 12 Days of Gifts app, tap View Gift, and tap Free. Alternatively, you can download the book by searching for it directly in the iBooks Store from within the iBooks app. Apparently, with the app, Apple has so far been offering links to items that are downloadable for free even in the absence of its 12 Days of Gifts promo. Ahead of the promo's official start, Apple offered Lorde's "No Better" single and "Royal" music video. Then, for its official inaugural offer a couple of days ago, 12 Days of Gifts featured Justin Timberlake's iTunes Festival EP. And yesterday, it offered both the pilot episode of "Once Upon a Time" and the Rovio Stars point-and-click puzzle adventure game Tiny Thief. Indeed, all those and the newly featured "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014" are free to download with or without 12 Days of Gifts. Here's hoping that Apple features a paid item that has actually gone free as a result of its 12 Days of Gifts promo. Apple's 12 Days of Gifts is available in the App Store for free. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later.
