Popular Gesture-Based Minimalist To-Do App Clear Goes Free Yet Again

March 7, 2014
The popular gesture-based minimalist to-do app Clear has just gone free ... again. Last month, Clear, which was released in February 2012, was updated with universal support, while Clear+, which was released in September 2013, was updated with support for migrating lists to Clear. The reason: developer Realmac Software wanted to clear customer confusion once and for all by offering the original Clear app only. To enable users of Clear+ to migrate their lists to Clear for free, Realmac promised then to make Clear free for a limited time. “As Apple doesn’t offer a way to migrate users between copies of an app, we’re going to make Clear free for 24 hours so owners of Clear+ can move to the correct version free of charge,” the developer said. “To make sure as many people as possible can move to Clear, we’re going to do this twice in the next few weeks.” The first time was a week ago. The second time is today. So, if you haven't yet downloaded Clear, whether you're a Clear+ user or not, go to the App Store now and get the app for free. Do make haste because it's set to return to its regular price of $4.99 on Saturday, March 8. Clear+ appears to be no longer available, so you should see a single universal Clear app in the App Store. According to Realmac, Clear will be updated later this month with its most requested feature, reminders support. Earlier today, Realmac updated its popular Ember cataloging app with support for folders for grouping collections together.
