Mojang Teases 'Biggest Update' Yet To Minecraft - Pocket Edition
June 10, 2014
Mojang has just announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition is set to get its "biggest update" so far.
Version 0.9.0 of the mobile edition of the hugely popular indie sandbox game introduces new features, including: a new culling algorithm, new culling of clouds, different saves for tile entities, new falling mechanics for gravel and sand, new insta ticking of water and lava, and new blocks.
Oh, and there will also be unlimited worlds, which were first teased by Mojang when it announced last February that Minecraft - Pocket Edition would get "significantly bigger worlds." Indeed, the worlds in the game will be so much bigger they will have no edges or ends.
The upcoming update to Minecraft - Pocket Edition is also set to bring the following: new mobs (Slimes, Endermen, Wolves, Mooshrooms, and Silverfish), new and updated biomes, new world feature generation, tweaks to caves, new AI, and the usual round of bug fixes.
Read Mojang's latest blog post for the details of the update, which is set for release "in the near future."
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Minecraft - Pocket Edition is available in the App Store for $6.99.
