Cowabunga! Nickelodeon unleashes new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles iOS game

Earlier today, Nickelodeon made the normally $3.99 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run, the official iOS game of its CGI-animated TMNT TV series, available for free on the App Store. Apparently, it has done so in celebration of the release of the official iOS game of the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles official movie game is indeed out now on iOS. Developed by the same studio behind the acclaimed gesture-based fighting game Combo Crew, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a combat game that has you protecting New York City against various enemies by battling as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello or Raphael — or Leo, Mikey, Donnie and Raph, as they're fondly called. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles challenges you to:

Jump, spin, punch, and kick waves of street gangs, mutants, Foot Clan, and legendary bosses

Upgrade each turtle with unique ninjutsu attacks, weapons, training, and boosts like the Freak Streak and Whack Attack

Chain attacks to trigger an awesome TURTLE POWER mini-game and fight up close with ALL 4 TURTLES

Play through STORY MODE, written by Tom Waltz, contributing author of the beloved comic series from IDW Publishing

Stay alive in SURVIVAL MODE against endless waves of enemies

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.1 or later, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is available now on the App Store for $3.99. The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie is scheduled to hit theaters in a couple of weeks, on Aug. 8.
