Vine Update Brings Loop Counts, A Cleaner Feed Design And More

July 1, 2014
It’s time to get in the loop. Version 2.1 of the popular video sharing Vine app ushers in loop counts. Vine explains more about the feature in a blog post:
With this update, there’s now a new way for you to quickly get a sense of how popular and interesting a Vine may be – based on how many times people watch a Vine loop. The number, which you can see in our mobile apps and on vine.co, updates in real time, so as you watch a video, you’ll know you’re watching with others at the same time.
The update also brings a cleaner feed design to offer viewers larger videos. Finally, the Activity section has been redesigned. New account milestones show users when they get a lot of activity, including loop counts, likes, new followers, and more. It also offers more visual and concise notifications, including new notifications when friends join the social network. Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, Vine can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Before the most recent changes, version 2.0 of Vine arrived back in April. The major new feature in that update was the ability to send private video messages to other Vine users.
