Yahoo Weather updated with twice daily customizable notifications

July 23, 2014
Yahoo Weather, the popular iPhone and iPad weather app developed by the eponymous Internet company, has just received an update that introduces a neat new feature. The new feature in question is called Daily Notifications. As explained by Yahoo in the update's release notes, Yahoo Weather now offers:
Twice daily customizable notifications for your favorite locations: Once in the morning to prepare for the coming day, and once in the evening with the next day's weather.
When you launch Yahoo Weather after installing the update, you'll see the screens pictured above prompting you to enable Daily Notifications. Note that Background App Refresh as well as Push Notifications must be enabled for Yahoo Weather for Daily Notifications to be activated. You can customize Daily Notifications in the app's settings section, where you can specify the times of day and the locations you'd like the feature to be enabled for, as shown below. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the new version of Yahoo Weather is available now on the App Store for free. Yahoo Weather received its last major update last March. That update added chance of precipitation to five-day and 10-day forecasts, new animations for moon phases, and other improvements.
