Instagram update brings three new filters and allows emojis in hashtags
Instagram fans have three new image filters to try out with the latest update to the popular social networking app.
Version 6.11.0 introduces Lark, Reyes, and Juno. Instagram explains more about the trio in a blog post:
Inspired by weekend adventures outdoors, Lark, Reyes and Juno are a family of modern, subtle filters that brighten and enhance your photos in refined, beautiful ways. Lark desaturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscapes to life. Reyes brings a dusty, vintage look to your moments. And finally, Juno tints cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos of people.
Instagram is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be download now on the App Store for free.
And as an added bonus, Instagram users can now add emojis to their hashtags.
Earlier this month, Instagram added a pair of new image editing tools – Color and Fade. As the name suggests Color adds a specific overlay to an image’s shadows or highlights while Fade softens a photo’s color.
The app last added new filters back in December. The Facebook-owned company said it is now planning to add filters to the app on a regular basis, which is great news.
And Instagram has even made its way to the new Apple Watch. Here’s an interactive demo of the app, courtesy of our sister site WatchAware.
