In a number of Twitter updates which hit the Web earlier today, iPhone Dev-Team member @MuscleNerd confirmed that the upcoming version of redsn0w will make use of users' SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0+. Furthermore, he advised jailbreak fans to save their SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella (if they haven't already).

Today has definitely been an interesting day for the jailbreak community. Both the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev-Team have made announcements regarding the untethered iOS 5 jailbreak and iPhone 4S unlock, and the good news is that solutions for both are in the works and will, at some point, become available.

Importantly, the recently updated redsn0w "explicitly supports" the seventh beta version of iOS 5 (as noted by @MuscleNerd), meaning users don't have to point the application at iOS 5 beta 6 when jailbreaking iOS 5 beta 7.
