The developer of TinyUmbrella - a Mac application that allows users to save their iOS device's SHSH blobs, ultimately preserving one's jailbreak - has recently updated his blog, urging readers to save their blobs before Apple launches a new version of its iOS mobile operating system.
Jailbreak fans can now use TinyUmbrella to save their iPhone 4S's SHSH blobs for the second build of iOS 5.0.1. Support for this build of Apple's mobile operating system comes in an update for TinyUmbrella, which was released a couple of days ago.
iH8sn0w's iFaith SHSH tool has recently received an update (1.4), and now supports all versions of Apple's mobile operating system up to iOS 5.0.1. Furthermore, besides saving SHSH blobs, the updated software also has the ability to save users' AP ticket. However, the downside is that iFaith currently does not support Apple A5 iOS devices (such as the iPhone 4S and iPad 2).
TinyUmbrella has received an update that adds support for the recently released beta version of iOS 5.1. Though we would not recommend jailbreak fans updating to this version of the iOS (as there's currently no known means of downgrading, and no untethered jailbreak solution is available for iOS 5 or above), if you do decide to take iOS 5.1 beta for a spin on your iOS device, be sure to save your SHSH blobs first.
