First Look: The New TV App on Apple TV Arrives for Developers
Apple has pushed out a new beta version for Apple TV. The tvOS 10.1 developer beta 3 is the first to offer Cupertino’s new TV app and single sign-on technology on the entertainment device, which was first announced in October.
The TV App
As expected, the new app for Apple TV offers a unifying TV watching experience. From here, you can find all the shows and movies you’re watching across your Apple devices. You can also access upcoming episodes and get personalized recommendations on what to watch next. You can also view your iTunes videos from this location.
The “Watch Now” section only includes channels that use Apple’s new single sign-on feature. For now, this limited list includes Hulu, Starz, HBO Now, and more.
You can read more about all the new features on Apple’s preview site.
iOS on board too
On Monday, iOS 10.2 beta 3 also arrived. This too includes the new TV app. On both platforms, the TV app has replaced the native Video app.
The public is expected to receive the TV app across all platforms before the end of the year.
