Most importantly, your phone or watch will need to be delivered with UPS or FedEx from Apple.

You’ll definitely want to read the entire post, but basically you’ll need to create a free UPS My Choice or FedEx Delivery Manager account. Once that is done, you can request that your shipment be held at a UPS or FedEx location. All packages from Apple are listed as “AI.”

While there are probably a number of FedEx or UPS stores located near you, the best bet is to pick up your device at a central hub. Requesting delivery to a store could also net you the phone or watch before the delivery vehicle is scheduled to arrive at your house.

This is a great tip, especially if you’re regular FedEx or UPS deliveries don’t arrive until later in the day. In my case, UPS is delivering my Series 2 Apple Watch but doesn’t usually make it to my house until after 5 p.m. I’m located near a major hub here in Dallas, so I am requesting that I pick up my watch there.

Just to note, whenever you go to pickup your package, make sure to have a photo ID.
