History of Advertising Trust (HAT) was established in 1976 to preserve the heritage of the UK ad industry and make it accessible to all for study and research. Subsequently HAT is the largest archive of British advertising in the world, holding over 5 million items in its collections, which range in date from 1800s-present.
HAT's Ad-Memoire resource provides care homes with access to themed reels of some of the UK's best loved vintage TV commercials (1950s-1960s), which have been carefully preserved in the archive. Many of the ads in the reels are fondly remembered by care home residents and the resource is a great tool for supporting reminiscence and activity sessions, or even just as a form of entertainment. Ad-Memoire can be used one to one on a small screen (phone/tablet) or in group sessions, via Apple TV or casting.
