Floont Mentor

Floont is for fluent English speakers who want to supplement their income on their terms (schedule, location). Floont sets up 15 minute conversations with English language learners providing an on-demand service like ride-sharing. Unlike ESL schools ortutoring centres, Floont works with your schedule without extensive preparation and commuting.

How does it do this? So glad you asked. Its:

Voice only - You don’t need to be dressed up…if at all (This isn’t that kind of app by the way).

Whenever you want. - Fit it in between classes or on your lunch or do it full time in the off-season. Not while you’re on the bus though. Nobody wants to hear your conversation…besides, you’ll be giving a free lesson to your fellow passengers.

Only 15 minutes. - Everybody has 15 minutes!

How it works. Steven’s story…

Abby (Alias ‘AB-China’) wants to prepare for her trip to Vancouver and needs to practice her English. She downloads Floont, and then plans to start talking English 15 minutes a day with a Vancouver resident for 2 weeks.

Steven (Alias ‘ST-Vancouver’), an ESL Instructor who’s in between classes, sees AB-China’s request and clicks that he’s available.

Floont calls Abby and Steven masking all phone numbers and the two speak for 15 minutes.

Steven spoke to Abby and many others with their own stories of career improvement while making money on his downtime in the comfort of his own home. A couple of times, he even had some pretty nasty bedhead and nobody knew.
