Sometimes habits just don’t stick. You have to put something on the line. Forfeit lets your present self to keep your future self in check.

That's why we, serial procrastinators and the world's best alarm-clock-snoozers created Forfeit. The premise is simple: set a task for yourself, and pledge a certain amount of money that you will get the task done on time. Then, submit proof of having completed your goal by the deadline - or you automatically Forfeit your pledge to charity.

For example:
• I will hit 30km on my Peloton before 8AM, or I'll Forfeit $10
• I will submit a photo of myself awake and downstairs by 9AM, or I'll Forfeit $10
• I will submit a time lapse of myself meditating uninterrupted for 30 minutes by 10AM, or I'll Forfeit $3
• I will submit a photo of my completed history essay by 9PM, or I'll Forfeit $30
• I will record a 10km run by 3PM or I'll Forfeit $5

Whether you have a short term to-do like waking up on time or hitting leg day, or a long term goal like finishing that Vampire novel you've been working on since college - Forfeit can make it happen.

Backed by science - a method to the madness
Academic research has shown time and time again that people are significantly more successful at achieving their goals when there is money on the line.

Don't believe the science? Believe us! Forfeit began because co-founder Josh could never get out of bed on time (like, ever). After trying every alarm under the sun Josh discovered there was only one thing that worked: the fear of losing money. He began texting co-founder Ava "I'll give you $10 if I'm not out of bed tomorrow by 9 AM" - and never slept past midday again.

No fuss-features - to help keep you in check
• Multiple ways of proving task completion (ex. submit a photo to show you're out of bed on time, a time lapse to prove an uninterrupted study session, or even track a run to prove you've gone a certain distance)
• Ability to set recurring Forfeits and build a Forfeit schedule (ex. morning run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or be at work 30 minutes early every Tuesday and Thursday)
• Reminders for all Forfeits (if you want them, of course)
