Imagine being able to walk into a tech shop like [insert your favourite electrical shop name here]. You flash your Geek Badge at the member of staff who understands your Geek rating and immediately they stop the usual inane spiel and answer your questions properly.

"Ah yes, Sir/Madam" they'll say. "I think you want the PZ4500 in this range as the manufacturer has just brought out a firmware update that doubles the throughput etc. etc."
Oh that would be so satisfying. One can dream eh?

The dream is now real!!

How it works: You are asked a series of questions with two or more answers. Each questions falls into one of the following categories: Hardware, Software, Electricals, Internet or General. Each answer has a +/- points rating which adds up into an individual category rating and an overall Geek rating produced from all the categories together.

Geek ratings are broadly classed as Paper, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum.

But it doesn't end there:
Once you have your official geek badge you can challenge your geeky mates to a duel using Bu.mp technology to see who is the top geek!
