App Store Description
MeterReader2 is an application to support a large number of meter readings (power, gas, water, ...). This version is a reimplementation of MeterReader. The user interface is unchanged. The difference is, that all data is stored in the iCloud. As an advantage of this, the user can see the same data on different devices, logged in with the same Apple-ID.
Reading jobs will be mailed to the mobile device as "*.meters" files (JSON format). These files can be opened with the MeterReader. A reading job might contain multiple meter groups( e.g. entrances or apartments). Each meter group contains one or more meters. MeterReader also supports virtual
meters like person counters or devices just for reference like smoke detectors.
Different types of readings are supported (e.g. installation, intermediate reading, ...). The reading value has to be typed twice for verification. Simple checks will also be done automatically - new value is smaller than the last value, ... If a check fails, a warning or error message is displayed.
To support a fail safe input on small devices like the iPhone, a numeric keyboard extension is included.
For later reference each reading can be supported by taking a photo of the meter.
A reading protocol can be printed for each group of meters via AirPrint. This allows to give away copies of values and have the protocol signed.
After all readings have been completed, the job will be displayed with a green background. Now it can be mailed back back office processing.
Deleting jobs, will delete all data of this job in the iCloud. After deleting the data, it will be gone on all devices.
ATTENTION:
Usage of this application requires either the corresponding "*.meters" files or programming skills to generate the your self. An example file can be generated from the help page.
