While it is enough to have only a parent register an account, the application shall be downloaded by all the family members who wish to use the app. The registered parent can create a user account for each of the family members inside the app and generate a QR code they can use to log into the application.

You get the best experience if parent and their kid use the app together. You do have though the possibility to use the app alone as a parent. This is how we want to ensure that parents with kids having no mobile yet can still use the motivational system of MoneyMate.
