The original Murwillumbah Junior Rugby League was based at Stan Sercombe Oval, presently occupied by our senior club the Murwillumbah Mustangs as their home ground. Their colours were predominantly orange with blue and white.

The original Murwillumbah Junior Rugby League was based at Stan Sercombe Oval, presently occupied by our senior club the Murwillumbah Mustangs as their home ground. Their colours were predominantly orange with blue and white.
In 1980 the club was split into 3 junior clubs and amalgamated with the town's senior clubs, Murwillumbah Brothers, Murwillumbah Old Boys, and South Murwillumbah .
In 1982 the long standing, John Conaghan Shield commenced in recognition to John Conaghan's contribution to Junior Rugby League in the area. The carnival was hosted and run by Murwillumbah's 3 junior clubs, presently Murwillumbah Colts host the carnival as a prelude to the new season.
After the move by the South Murwillumbah senior club in 1984 to Cabarita, the juniors followed in 1987, and known as Tweed Coast Raiders.
Murwillumbah Brothers and Murwillumbah Old Boys amalgamated in 1992 to form the present Murwillumbah Colts Junior Rugby League, with the home ground being at Murwillumbah Leagues Club in Dorothy Street , Murwillumbah.
On the formation of Murwillumbah Colts with Derek Brouwer at the helm in the Presidents chair, who has been a great ambassador for Junior Rugby League in Murwillumbah. Over the years Colts have won a number of premierships and contributed to the development of Junior Rugby in the Tweed Valley significantly.
Colts have had a number of players who have gone onto higher honours in Rugby League: Anthony Lafranchi, Luke Covell, Damian Quinn, and Troy Pezet.
During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideas and innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continues long in to the future.
One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was the way in which it was currently communicating with its players, members, supporters and sponsors.
With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club was actively pursuing different methods which would enable them to improve on their existing communication channels.
After conducting a review of all the options available to them the club is pleased to announce the release of their first ever native mobile phone app for the iPhone.
The app will be branded in the famous blue and gold of the Murwillumbah Junior Rugby League Club and the content available to users in the app will contain information about the club.
