The DEC controller is installed by any exit door designated as ‘Special Locking’ in which locking the door is allowed under specific circumstances as detailed by the International Building Code (IBC) and the NFPA 101 Life Safety Codes. Special Locking provisions are designated for facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living complexes, hospitals, daycare centers, detention facilities, and alike. NU2’s DEC provides an unmatched solution for simultaneously permitting a secure environment while providing for egress during emergencies.[LTS1]
Via Bluetooth and using the DEC’s mobile app, installers and administrators can change configuration parameters such as nuisance timers (0,1,2 seconds), time delay to release (15,30 seconds) and other functionalities such as auto/manual alarm reset etc. DEC has a built-in graphical display, multi-tone alarm sounder and more.
DEC operates from 12v-24v AC or DC, has 5 programmable supervised inputs and 4 programmable form “C” relay outputs. Outputs are supervised via built in selector jumpers for simple dry form C, for 1K or 1K/2K EOL supervision. No need for external EOL resistor kits.
Selectable inputs are: Panic Bar monitor, Door Status Monitor (DSM/DC), shunt/ bypass and manual alarm reset. 4 outputs allow monitoring of: alarm condition, bypass status, door ‘held’ status and door contact ‘mimic’ condition. There is no need to drill for multiple DSM contacts. Fail safe lock release relay is provided including a connection terminals [LTS2] to the building’s Fire Alarm (F/A) to automatically remove power from the electrified lock.
DEC has dedicated outputs for remote Red/Green LEDs as well as 2.4” graphical display showing multiple door conditions such as: nuisance timer with graphical count down as well as graphical timer for remaining lock release period. Additionally, graphical display shows status conditions such as: Door is secured, door in alarm and door is held open.
Via use of any mobile device, the display can be further customized to show device’s location, company name or logo, installing company’s name, support phone numbers etc. there are total of 5 programmable lines.
DEC is available with iButton digital key fob or alternatively with 26 bit HID micro reader. DEC’s database stores 150 digital key fobs and user’s name. Export feature allows for quick cloning of multiple DECs without the need for data reentry. Users and digital keys can be added/removed via the mobile device. No need to duplicate and distribute traditional mechanical keys.
DEC controller has a built in RS-485 port for either chaining DECs or for communication with OEM products.
DEC uses an open architecture platform allowing for easy third-party integration and thus is highly suitable for the OEM marketplace. The DEC is a part of a family of integrated products that include the Intelligent Local Door Alarm (iLDA), Intelligent Mantrap Controller (iMTC), Smart Power Supply (sPS-5000) and Access Control Module ACM/UIB-842/828.
