Ordo

Ordo is the smarter way to pay and be paid - simply, swiftly and securely. Easily send bills, pay direct from your bank account, track invoices and payment at a glance no matter what bank. Ordo is authorised by the FCA.

The Ordo service enables anyone (consumers, businesses, public sector organisations and charities) to request payment from another party.  Ordo offers a secure and cost-effective way for payments to be requested and then effected. 

When a user receives a request for payment from another party, including charities, and wants to make the payment, they are redirected to their own bank’s mobile banking application where they can authorise the payment.  Ordo securely supplies their bank with all of the information needed for the bank to execute the transaction (e.g. sort-code, account number, account name, amount and reference details for the beneficiary of the payment).  This is done via Open Banking - the CMA-backed technology that is opening up access to the UK’s banking system. 

The user’s bank then makes the payment via Faster Payments, the UK’s realtime 24/7 account-to-account payment system.
