Pile Group Settlement

by Murat Hamderi

What is it about?

This application offers an easy and accurate solution for determining the settlement of a rectangular shaped pile-raft foundation. The settlement is calculated at the centre and the corner of the raft. The difference of these two are regarded as the differential settlement. The calculations are carried out using a formula, which was derived from the regression analyses of finite element modelling results. Further information can be reached at Hamderi, 2018. The formula requires 17 input parameters. These are: pile length, pile spacing (in x and y directions), pile diameter, side lengths of the raft, distributed load, thickness of raft, pile side and tip resistances, soil moduli of 5 layers, elastic modulus of pile and depth of bedrock.
