Features:

The App provides instant interactive access to over 70000 pipe-fitting labor units. All of the handling, joining, supporting, and testing activities that are normally encountered in pipe-fitting work are covered, as well as the most common components and lines. It includes carbon and stainless piping from ½ to 48 inches diameter. Pipe size, schedule, and material can all be chosen and adjusted individually and interactively, as well as the productivity and labor-rate factors. Imperial and metric specifications are provided for every choice and all of the output data is provided in both man-hour and dollar values.

Man-Hours:

Man-hour units are the work-effort measures of physical installations, and they reflect crew outputs whether by one man or teams of men. They represent complete work tasks including the set-up and take-down times for tools and gear.

The [PROD] button allows for choosing any productivity level from 20% to 200%. Productivity is affected by many factors and can easily range from one-half for difficult and complex situations to double for good open access work. Good judgement is needed in making this choice. A productivity of 1.0 or 100% is normal.

The [LAB RATE] button allows for setting an hourly labor rate to reflect any commercial or financial prerogative. This can be a labor cost, price, charge, or budget rate, or whatever is needed. Type in the rate and the out-puts will instantly reflect it.

The program initializes with a default data set for 4” STD CS piping at a productivity of 1.0, and labor rate of $100.00, and then alternative choices can be made as needed.

The spec output table provides the diameters, walls thicknesses, and weights of pipe in both imperial and metric units. The other output tables provide the handling, joining, supporting, and testing units, the component units, and the line budget units.

Off-Schedule Pipe:

Because work-effort units are a function of physical attributes, units can be found for any pipe by cycling through the schedules [SCH] list, and finding the best wall thickness match for the size being considered. To facilitate this, all the schedule designations have been extended to cover every pipe size.
