Our apps provide personalised memory support to people living with dementia and their carers. By using Refresh, users are able to film and link supportive videos to objects in their homes.
This video content is launched from a mobile, simply by touching it to a special contactless sticker.

HOW CAN IT HELP?
Supportive videos can help people living with memory loss to remember how to complete a task. For example, tapping your phone onto a sticker attached to a kettle will prompt a video showing you how to make a cup of tea. Following along a video can help reduce the number of prompts required by carers to complete tasks of everyday living. Refresh can also be used to provide guidance on infrequently completed tasks around the home.
Or, Refresh can be used to capture memories of activities users have taken part in and don’t want to forget. Record clips of daily activities in the community or special occasions with family or friends. Link the video to a tag, and place the tag on an object of reference related to the event. Watching the videos back can help users to remember who took part in the activity with them, where it took place and how they felt during the experience.

HOW IT WORKS
Our tech consists of two apps, Refresh Studio and Refresh Player.
This app is our Refresh Player app. With it, users can simply tap their mobile device to a contactless tag to launch step-by-step video content. The video can remind the user about how to complete a task at home or recap a recent memory.
All videos for use with the Refresh Player are completely personalised to the individual. Video content used in the Refresh Player must be filmed through our Refresh Studio app.
For access to the Refresh Studio, you will need a Refresh Kit. These are available from www.wearehowdoi.com/shop.


YOUR PRIVACY
All video content is completely private to you and anyone you choose to share it with.
Our apps use analytics to collect data on usage. Information that is gathered through the analytics is collected anonymously and in aggregate. This means it will only be representative of our entire user group and will not be used to look at the usage of any specific person.

SAFETY
Carers and people living with dementia must only use Refresh Studio to create content that can be safely used and followed by the intended end user of the Refresh Player. We do not review or approve videos in the app for any reason.

4 STEPS TO GET STARTED WITH REFRESH
Step 1: Receive our Refresh Kit. This kit will provide an information guide to help you to get set up with the apps, along with 20 contactless stickers.
Step 2: Using our Refresh Studio, you can create your own personalised video content.
Step 3: Then, link a video you’ve created in the Studio to a sticker, and place it wherever it is needed.
Step 4: Using our Refresh Player, the video can be launched simply by tapping a mobile device on to the sticker.
