The interactive map-based app guides you along the creator’s suggested route to optimize the immersive experience. Learn who was the creative genius behind the Mall’s layout and why he chose the location. Explore the design of the Capitol Building. Discover the irrevocable geometric flaw in the placement of the Washington Monument and how landscape architecture ‘corrected’ it. Judge if the Western book-end to the Mall is ‘worthy of the nation.’ No other landmark in the United States reflects the soul of the nation better than the National Mall. The guided tour, in its entirety, takes approximately 1.5 hours and covers 3 miles. The user has the option to manually do the tour at their leisure.
