Our Earthquake Forecast gives the largest likely earthquake in your lifetime, everywhere on Earth, based on your location. Technically, it is the earthquake magnitude that has a 1% chance per year of occurring within 100 km of your location. We also show active faults in 80 countries, and worldwide earthquakes in the past 30 days, which can be filtered by time period and magnitude.

Our Earthquake Score takes into account all earthquakes near and far, large and small, plus very approximate information about your home’s seismic resilience. It is provided everywhere on Earth. A score of 100 means that over a 30-year period, you are most likely to lose 20% of the value of your home or building to seismic damage.

In the U.S., we estimate your home or building’s most likely financial losses and repair time, and the chance of injury, in the largest likely earthquake that could affect you. This calculation finds the USGS scenario earthquake that produces the strongest shaking at your location, and then accesses data to estimate your home or building’s fragility.

In the U.S., Temblor also lists participating insurance agents, retrofit contractors, quake prep consultants, insurance alternatives, structural engineers, and structural products manufacturers. There is a click-to-call button for all of these providers near you.
