App Store Description

The Unimog-Museum app is the digital companion through the almost 80-year-old history of the "universal motor device", in short: Unimog. It offers an overview of the origin, further development and diverse uses of this "most iconic" of all commercial vehicles.

The app offers all the information you need for a visit – from opening hours, how to get there and admission prices to information about driving on the outdoor course and current special exhibitions. It can be activated at the check-in for 1 euro.

Presented by the ex-racing athlete and Mercedes brand ambassador Ellen Lohr and the Unimog expert Karl-Josef Leib, the main topics are as follows:

- Welcome to the Unimog world
- The beginnings in Schwäbisch Gmünd
- The Unimog at and from Boehringer
- Move to Gaggenau and victory march
- Unimog-S – the slightly different Unimog
- The legendary U 411
- U 406/416 – The Unimog is getting bigger
- The MB-Trac – Unimog as a tractor
- U 421 – versatile and economical
- U 1300 L and heavy series
- Gaggenau – From Bergmann to Benz
- Gaggenau – From Benz to Daimler Trucks
- U 407/417 and U408/418
- Make two out of one – UGN/UHN
- Breathtaking – the outdoor course

How does the app work?
The app is based on beacon technology. A beacon is a small Bluetooth radio transmitter that automatically connects to the smartphone. These beacons are distributed throughout the exhibition and trigger new content on the smartphone at the appropriate points. Distinctive stickers draw attention to the stations.

Challenge:
Children and adults also have the opportunity to complete a challenge. The aim is to find ten objects in the exhibition. At the end, the children get a small reward.

With headphones into the museum:
The use of the app via the device loudspeaker of the smartphone is restricted (reduced volume), therefore headphones are required.
