Movies Update Adds Facebook Connect

March 16, 2009
Over the weekend we witnessed the first App Store applications to utilize the new Facebook Connect feature, Tap Tap Revenge 2 and iBowl. We now have our first non-game application, Movies. Movies is the top movies application available at the App Store, and it is currently available free of charge. Before the update, users were able to search for theaters, movies, watch trailers, and much more. With the added Facebook Connect feature, you are now able to rate and review movies directly from the application. Once a movie has been rated, the information is automatically updated on your Facebook profile feed. To fully utilize the new feature, head on over to your Facebook profile and sign up for the Flixster application if you haven't already. You will be asked to rate quite a few movies in order to complete a compatibility test. Once you are finished setting it up, launch Movies and sign in to your Facebook account. Now you will be able to rate and review movies from either your computer or your iPhone, and the information will be automatically updated on each device. Facebook Connect has already made believers out of us. If you don't have Facebook by now, I recommend you go sign up just to use some of these neat iPhone application features. It never hurts to stay in touch. And for you anti-Facebook folks out there, don't worry about looking like a hypocrite when you finally give in, I was one of you once and I promise it doesn't hurt.
