Foxconn Workers To Receive 30% Pay Rise Immediately

Throughout the last week the eyes of many have been on Foxconn: the China-based company that assemble many of Apple's products, including the iPad, iPod, and iPhone.
Recent suicides (ten in total between January and May 2010) and talks of Foxconn's sweat-shop like working conditions have left Apple facing a public relations meltdown. A report stating that the incentive of profit share was on the horizon has not yet been confirmed by either Apple or Foxconn, though Jobs stated in an email conversation that the company was "all over this".
Now reports stating that Foxconn workers are to receive a 30% pay rise have hit the web - despite the fact that Foxconn suicides are below the national average.
There have been issues at Foxconn for some time, and reports of abusive employment practices, which has culminated in a rapid increase in employee suicide. It is thought that the pay rise should subdue this, though we can only guess.
What do you think? Are you tired of hearing about the current Foxconn affairs, or do you think that the world needs to be aware that their iDevices are being manufactured in such a hell-hole?
