Become A God, On Your iPhone
In Godfinger, you control a small ecosystem by building structures, controlling the elements and demanding labor from your followers. This is similar to popular games like We Rule or Farmville, in as much as you are building and tending to earn rewards. However, the tasks you perform in this game are far more whimsical and less tedious. This also makes controlling your world much more fun as you can do whatever you want to your little followers, like tossing them around. There is even a leaderboard to see who can get the farthest distance.
Just like in similar titles, you unlock achievements and buy new buildings as you play. Your small planet also grows as your experience increases to make room for your new buildings and new followers. One of the other things you collect along the way is Mana, which is used for your "magic powers" like making it rain or bringing sunshine. Your followers may also get tired. Until you have a building for them to rest in, you use up one of your other resources called "awe" to invigorate them through divine inspiration.
While games of this type tend to seem like work and take up a lot of time, Godfinger is more light-hearted and definitely a good "pick-up and play" title. There is no overwhelming need to play every 6 hours or lose your farm. Also, since it's free, you can rule your very own world without spending a dime.
Godfinger is available free of charge, now on the Apple App Store.
