It's a new time and MTV has done a great job of combining our desire to stay up with the latest entertainment news and gossip with the capabilities of the iPhone OS with the free MTV News app for the iPhone and iPad.
Available in both iPhone and iPad versions, the MTV News app is catered specifically for the multi-touch environment as almost everything you do inside the app involves swiping up, down and sideways. You can check out breaking news, live video, customized news feeds or even browse through an expansive library of entertainment news and videos. While many years ago, MTV was about music, MTV is now the hub for all the latest in pop culture and entertainment news and the MTV News app is a great way to get all of that in one convenient app.
The "My News" section can be customized to show only the types of news you are interested in like music, celebrities, movies, video games and MTV's series. During special live events like the MTV Movie Awards (airing tonight, June 6th) you can see live streaming video feeds from the event giving you tons of extra coverage, particularly before and after the event.
While not as smooth as the iPhone version, an iPad version is also available. On the iPad you can enjoy an interesting photo browsing mode that allows you to browse through news items by picture.
