According to the Skype Mobile Blog, an iOS 4-compatible version of Skype for iPhone is coming soon - once the app's developers have had a chance to run some "additional tests" with the final version of iOS 4.
The update will allow iPhone (3GS and 4) users running iOS 4 to make calls through Skype whilst the app is closed through the implementation of Apple's multitasking APIs.
Many may be disappointed that the update hasn't been made available in time for iOS 4's release, which is scheduled for later today. However, the guys at Skype have assured us that they're only taking a little longer with the update in order to give users "the best experience possible." Peter Parkes, from Skype, said:
When we’re confident that the app will live up to your high expectations, we’ll make it available for download. So sit tight, download iOS 4 today, and keep your eyes peeled for Skype's update. We'll be reporting on it as soon as the update hits the App Store!
