Apple Store: Coming To A Covent Garden Near You

July 30, 2010

Great news, UK readers - Apple has recently confirmed that we're going to be getting another London Apple Store next week, located in the prestigious Covent Garden area. This marks the second Apple Store in central London, the other being Apple's Regent Street Store. Other stores in the London area include Brent Cross and White City. The city's top newspaper, The London Evening Standard, managed to obtain a bit of information regarding the store:
Plans for the store obtained by the Evening Standard show it will cover four floors, although only two are likely to be accesible to the public. It features a glass roof over a courtyard originally built so horses could make deliveries easily to the building, which dates from 1877. Customers will enter through an eight-bay arcade marked by 20-foot stone arches and lit with restored gas lamps. The firm has been painstakingly restoring the building for months, even removing a set of brick arches piece-by-piece, photographing and numbering them before rebuilding them onto a floor lowered by just four inches.
So, if you're in old London town next Saturday, why not take a walk around the Covent Garden area and call in for the store's grand opening? And, if you do, be sure to send us a picture from your iPhone!
