AppAdvice has teamed up with Cipher Works in order to offer you a chance to win one of five (5) promo codes for Rock, Paper, Ninja! for iPhone and iPod touch ($.99).
Who hasn't had fun playing the classic kid's game, "rock-paper-scissors," right? Cipher Works has created a fun little iPhone game that expands upon that basic concept. Not only does Rock, Paper, Ninja! have a rock, paper, and scissors, but it also has a ninja, a pirate, cake, zen, a couple of cats, and more. Above and beyond the traditional gameplay, you can unlock more objects to play with by earning achievements.
Rock, Paper, Ninja! is a game of chance, where you pick a specific weapon or object to challenge a player. Your goal is to attempt to guess what your opponent will choose and pick a better weapon. Each weapon has specific attributes, namely what other objects it can overpower and which can overpower it. For example, paper wins over rock because the paper can cover the rock and not be harmed.
Playing the game is very easy. The first six objects are already unlocked and you need to unlock the rest by winning a certain amount of games in a row, competing against other specific objects, and more. Once you select an object, the AI player will choose a random object to challenge you. You'll be designated as a winner or loser and your current running score, wins, losses, and draws will appear at the bottom. You can either tap on the screen to begin a new match or shake your iDevice to show a list of all achievements. You have the option of showing the achievements before choosing your weapon, which makes it easier to choose if you're looking to earn a specific achievement.
Finally, the game offers a multiplayer option over Bluetooth. If you hadn't guess already, you can only play against one other opponent. To create a multiplayer match, go to the Settings app on your iDevice. You'll need to turn on Bluetooth under General to begin with but also disable the computer AI player of the game. While still in Settings, scroll down until you see Rock, Paper, Ninja. Within that settings pane are switches to enable or disable the AI opponent and sound.
