Happy Birthday, App Store! And Happy AppsGiving Day!

Today marks the two year mark for the App Store. It is hard to believe that what now has a library of over 275,000 applications came from a store that was merely in the hundreds. With so many applications today, the phrase "there's an app for that" can be applied to almost every single need! So from AppAdvice directly, happy birthday, App Store!
We also celebrate one other special occasion, which did not even exist a week ago, but thanks to some folks' hard work and sleepless nights, we now celebrate AppsGiving Day, a day to celebrate the App Store and gift an app. Read more about it here. So to celebrate the App Store's birthday and AppsGiving Day, check out my list below containing one application from each category that I feel have been valuable assets to the App Store, as well as would make great gifts. Also be sure to check out Bryan Wolfe's gift suggestions from yesterday. UPDATE: Interesting question from readers Tim and Theron - "what happens if you gift an app that they already have?" Well, unfortunately, iTunes cannot detect if they already have the application, so in the end, it would waste your money if this was to happen.
