iOS 4 Brings Bluetooth Headset Issues Across All Devices?

Forget the now infamous iPhone 4 antenna issues, and forget the handset's mischievous proximity sensor; Cult of Mac has another iProblem for us all to moan about, and it involves Bluetooth headsets working under iOS 4.
A great many users are finding that the quality of their Bluetooth-powered calls has radically altered since installing Apple's software update.
The general consensus on Apple's Support forum seems to be that users are now experiencing "muffled" sound quality when making calls using a Bluetooth handset under iOS 4. Some have even purchased new headsets, to no avail.
Over at TUAW, a spokesperson for Aliph stated:
"We are aware of and concerned with the user frustration surrounding the issues affecting all Bluetooth devices (headsets, car kits, and speakers) connecting to the iPhone 4 and iOS4 updated phones. We know users have come to expect the freedom of hands-free and we are working night and day with our partners, Apple and AT&T, to resolve the issues as quickly as possible."The one positive regarding this particular iProblem has is that it's not limited to the iPhone 4 alone - meaning that we have a software issue on our hands, as opposed to a hardware issue. Hopefully Apple's upcoming iOS 4.0.1 software update will cure this problem so Bluetooth headset users won't have to suffer much longer. Just remember: if you're experiencing issues with your Bluetooth headset, and you're running iOS 4, don't buy a replacement headset. Wait for iOS 4.0.1 to be released and hopefully the problem will be solved. We might just hear a little more about this issue from the guys over at Apple when they hold their highly anticipated press conference tomorrow. Make sure you head back to AppAdvice.com for more news about the conference, which starts at 10 a.m. PT!
