iPad Engraving On Its Way For Holiday Season?

If you were hoping to give a laser engraved iPad to that special someone this holiday season, then you're in luck. According to a recent report by Erictric, Apple is planning on offering an engraving service for prospective buyers of its "magical and revolutionary" device - a service which will supposedly launch "just before the holidays roll around."
Personally, I could never afford to give a loved one an engraved iPod, back when they were all the rage a couple of years ago. And, even if I could, I'm not sure whether I would: laser-engraving to me isn't a great addition to Apple's already brilliant design. I think Jony Ive has already done a good enough job - why spoil your iDevice by having a machine scrawl a cliched message on its back?
Erictric's source has also stated that the service will be "most likely free, especially since they’ll be trying to sell a ton more of the tablets during the holiday season.” So if laser-engraved gifts are your bag, you'll be glad to know that the engraving service itself won't cost you a penny.
As of this moment, we have no idea when Apple plans to launch iPad engraving, but we'll certainly be posting when they do. In the meantime, why not get a head start on composing your laser-engraved message? And, if you want to share any cherished phrases, be sure to do so in the comments box below!
