iPhone 4-Ready Radio Now Available With Ether

July 16, 2010

One aspect of my iPhone 4 that unexpectedly impressed me was the Retina display: the supercool, high resolution display that every new iPhone 4 comes with. While in-app text automatically converts to become crisp and clear when viewed on the new handset's screen, other aspects of third-party apps, such as icons and graphics, have to be fixed by the developer. In turn, this requires an update - and as we all know, some updates can take quite a few months to come along. While there are a great many apps that require such an update, one worthwhile app that's already Retina display-optimized is Ether: a radio application for iPhone. Ether allows users to tune in to their favorite radio stations, and sports a large list of already-known stations throughout a variety of countries. However, Ether goes one step further in allowing users to add radio station feeds themselves, meaning the app is about as open as an unclosed door. In addition to this, Ether's developer, Pandapps, has also added iOS 4 support - meaning the app can multitask and continue playing while in the background. This is a definite bonus that users of the app will undoubtedly appreciate - indeed, it makes Ether even more desirable. The app's interface is slick, smooth, and very easy on the eyes. Its interface fits nicely with the iPhone itself, and doesn't feel awkward in the way certain third-party apps sometimes can.

Another thing that I love about the app is its price. At $0.99, you get a lot more than what you pay for with Ether. It is without a doubt worth the cash. So what are you waiting for? Head over to the App Store and take a closer look at Ether now! And, if you do decide to buy this great app, let us know what you think of it in the comments box below!
